Air Bag Protection
All Journey models feature standard next-generation multistage driver and front passenger air bags,* front seat-mounted side air bags,* and side-impact inflatable curtain air bags for all three rows* - that’s six air bags of protection total!
Additionally, an Occupant-Restraint Controller (ORC) deploys air bags as required. The two-stage output also helps the air bag system protect against air bag-induced injuries to small, unbelted or out-of-position occupants.
*Always use seat belts. Children 12 and under should always be in a back seat correctly using an infant or child restraint system, or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the child’s age and weight. |

Antilock Braking
Journey’s standard four-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Brake Assist, helps prevent wheel lockup for shorter stopping distances and improved control under extreme braking or slippery conditions. Brake Assist helps the average driver overcome a common tendency to not apply the brakes hard enough or quick enough during an emergency stop by using the Electronic Stability Control to instantly apply the maximum available pressure to the brakes. |

Trailer Sway Control (TSC)
Think of it as Journey control. When pulling a trailer, the TSC system helps you to maintain vehicle and trailer stability by continuously monitoring the driver’s intended path vs. steering wheel input and recognizing the unique vehicle motion associated with trailer sway. Once the system’s yaw sensor recognizes a swaying motion, individual brake pressure is automatically applied to eliminate it, helping to bring the vehicle and trailer back under driver control. |
